All fellows will have transportation, lodging, and food expenses covered, including all expenses pertaining to the 4-week South Africa study abroad program.

Summer I

- Phase 1 (6 weeks): Wildlife engineers will learn molecular lab methods, introductory engineering concepts, and receive professional mentoring on the UIUC campus.

- Phase 2 (4 weeks): Wildlife engineers will complete engineering -related projects focusing on South African agriculture and wildlife, be exposed to South African ecosystems, and be immersed in the local South African culture.

Summer II

- During summer II, our fellows will be guaranteed a place in the highly sought-after Summer Research Opportunities Programs (SROP) on the University of Illinois campus, where the individual interests and skills of each student will be channeled into independent research mentored by a leading UIUC faculty member.
